About the cottage

Built in 1985, this cedar-shingled saltbox has four bedrooms, two baths, and a study with an extra bed. The kitchen, dining, and living areas are combined into one grand space with a vaulted ceiling and lots of natural light, and it opens onto a deck that overlooks the harbor and mountains of Mt. Desert Island.

The first floor of the house is wheelchair accessible (master bed, bath, study, laundry and great room). The ground floor features a finished bedroom, as well as a ping pong table and dart board, access to the backyard, and ample space for dog crates.

There's also a shed for bike storage.

"The house far outreached our expectations. It was an idyllic setting with peace, quiet, tranquil views and has everything we wanted or needed."

The Neighborhood

Here in Manset,

you'll be about 2 miles from downtown Southwest Harbor, a quaint village with shops and restaurants as well as easy access to Acadia National Park for all outdoor activities.

A free shuttle bus, The Island Explorer, stops near by. Also within easy walking distance is ferry service to three of the outer islands. Both bus and ferry are seasonal–June to mid-September.
